Great Pay!

Alberta’s unionized millwrights are among the highest paid construction workers in the province.

Our contract gives Journeymen $42.38/hr (total package including employer-paid pension and benefits: $56.12/hr).

Vacation pay is paid on all earned hours, and paid each payday.

We work a 40-hour week. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for the first 2 hours (Monday through Friday), and at double time beyond 2 hours. All weekend overtime is paid at double time.

Inflation Protection!

In our latest contract, we negotiated a clause that protects our members from inflation – a first for the unionized construction industry!

The clause guarantees that we receive specified annual wage increases, OR the Alberta annual inflation rate + 1%, whichever is greater.
