Course Description

Students receive an overview of the fundamentals of reciprocating compressors. Graduates will be equipped to work with reciprocating compressors. They will be proficient at various standard inspections and maintenance procedures.

Must bring steel toed boots

Familiarization with reciprocating compressor components
Methods of hydraulic tensioning
Remove, inspect, reinstall main and connecting rod bearings
Check piston head and crank end clearances
Check cross head/piston alignment
Check crankshaft deflection readings
Cylinder, piston and piston rod inspectionRemove, reinstall motor rotor
Review optical leveling procedures
